Taipei City Labor Inspection Office
 
 1. History

In the interest of protecting the rights of laborers, while maintaining security of mining factories, Taipei City Government, in compliance with the policy of central government and the authorization of the Ministry of the Interior, initiated the preparation for the establishment of the Taipei Office of Mining Inspection. The Organization Rule of the Office of Factory and Mining Inspection was approved by the Executive Yuan on August 1968. The Office was officially founded on February 4, 1969, had its head office at No. 150, Jinjiang Street, Taipei, and then moved to No. 8, Section 1, Roosevelt Road, Taipei South Gate Administration Building on June 1983. Few years later, the Office transferred to No. 21, Section 1, Dihua Street of Taipei, 6th floor of the Yongle Building. After that, the Office relocated its office to No. 287-2, Section 3, Chengde Road, where it has remained since October 1999.
 
The preliminary formal name of the Office was “Taipei Office of Factory and Mining Inspection.” It was changed to “Taipei Office of Labor Inspection” on April 1986. On November 1987, the official name of the Office was renamed as “Labor Standard Inspection Office of the Department of Labor of Taipei City Government” with the establishment of the Department of Labor of Taipei City Government and was affiliated to it. On October 24th, 1985, the Office was renamed as “Labor Standard Inspection Office of Taipei City Government.” On January 1st, 2013, in conformity with the reforming of the organizational structure and Chinese name of the Department of Labor of Taipei City Government, the official name of the Office was changed again to “Taipei City Labor Inspection Office.”

In charge of the inspection and licensing for dangerous machinery and equipment and directing the deputy administration related works.
Section of Labor Working Conditions

In charge of the comprehensive inspection of labor working condition in every industry.
Section of Planning

In charge of labor inspection and the statistics of occupational injuries, management of the information system of labor inspection, educational training for general works, the labor inspection for the mass media industry and supporting the labor inspection related works.
